Moor than meets the eye aims to tell the story of the people and landscape of Dartmoor over 4,000 years; exploring how people have always been involved in shaping the Dartmoor landscape.
There are plenty of ways you can get involved and follow in the traditions of our ancestors whether you are a community group, a family visiting the moor for the first time or you want to learn more about Dartmoor’s rich heritage.
Our Community Stakeholders’ Group is still on the lookout for members to advise the Moor than meets the eye Landscape Partnership Board of the views of the local community and a variety of user groups in the delivery of the Scheme until the end of 2019. If you feel you have something to offer then please read on…
Would you like to help us explore Dartmoors rich heritage? There are many projects across the scheme which with your help can help benefit the moor whether you are interested in wildlife, investigating Dartmoor through the ages, helping people get a better understanding or developing and sharing the skills to care for Dartmoor for future generations.
Over the course of the scheme we will be developing a web based resource to help you find out more about Dartmoor and how this seemingly natural landscape has been shaped by settlement, industry and farming.
Over the course of the scheme we will be producing reports, trails and leaflets to help you find out more about Dartmoor. This is where we will store them.
